Dr. My Tran attended the University of Virginia where she received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She received her degree in dentistry with honors from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. During that time, she was involved with Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, and was President of Delta Sigma Delta, a service fraternity, all of which was not only personally rewarding, but led to multiple leadership awards.
Dr. Tran completed her pediatric dentistry specialty training at New York University College of Dentistry where she was the Chief Resident of pediatric dentistry. While in residency, Dr. Tran spent time at the NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiners helping to develop a new dental forensic protocol.
Dr. Tran has been practicing for several years in Northern Virginia and is ecstatic to be working in Alexandria, having grown up in the area.
She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of the College of Diplomates, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society.
Dr. Tran continues to find a balance with work, teaching, and helping the underserved population. She has had the joy of volunteering in places as close as southwest Virginia and upstate New York and as far as the Indian Health Services in Alaska, the Jamaica Project, and dental mission trips in Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Cambodia. She continues to volunteer her time on these dental missions and is a faculty member for the NYU pediatric dental residents.
During her free time, Dr. Tran and her husband, Jason, enjoy playing Scrabble, ping pong, and cooking. They are very adventurous and dream of conquering all the mountain ranges and oceans of the world with their snowboards and snorkels. Most adventurous of all are their daughters Avery and Peyton!
